WHY? because you wouldn't be able to produce it spontaneously enough without the numerous clues that rosetta gives. And no, you won't eventually be able to use those sentences in to a conversation. It gives no explanation for grammar - the marketing highlights learning the natural way, like a child learns - but would a child attain an adequate grasp of grammar without the instruction that he or she receives at school? Important grammatical topics like tenses take a long time to grasp and leaning such things without explicit teaching is almost impossible - I mean why teach english at school to native english kids for 12 years if it can be learnt in the way that Rosetta describes? Negatives: It tricks you in to thinking that you're learning a lot but it absolutely fails to teach any spontaneous speaking listening reading or writing skills. Positives: It is a fun video game that is significantly less painful to use than other more conventional language learning methods and is quite good at teaching vocabulary I suspect that if I had reviewed the course after only one month, I would have scored it 5/5, but this score has since been reduced, month after month, to the current 1/5 score.
